Mission

Within a technological and economic landscape characterized by:
The proliferation and convergence of telecommunications and computer systems technologies.
The equipment and software manufacturers who, facing the globalization of world markets and higher production costs, tend to produce equipment that are more and more generic while the real needs of clients require systems that are more and more specific.
The system architectures that are becoming more and more proprietary and hence closed, while the needs of clients call for architectures that are more and more open.
The IT service providers who are more focused on acquisitions and mergers than on providing total and integrated solutions.

The mission of Corporatek's IT Systems Group is to provide its clients with independent and sound professional consulting and systems integration services in order to help them equip themselves with fully integrated and open telecommunications and computer networks systems.

Strategy

Corporatek's IT Strategy Consulting Competency helps its clients devise IT strategies and implementation methodologies that enable them to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
CITC's methodological framework is centered around two main objectives: flexibility and action.
We perform precise evaluations of the adequacy of our client's strategy as a function of its internal and external realities: the rapid transformations and profound mutations of its sectors of activities and of its markets on one hand, and its technologies, internal processes and human resources, on the other.
We are constantly present with our clients during the implementation of the devised strategy, bring into focus all corrective actions and unite our expertise to that of our clients to endow them with the core competencies required to give full force to the adopted strategy and to its evolution.
We carry out intense research work, robust syntheses and make realistic forecasts of the impact of the devised strategy on the nature of our client's business over a period of 3 to 5 years.
We make sure that the adopted strategy does not become a rigid and static operational framework but, rather, a dynamic and adaptive scheme of reference, catalyst of agility and fast response time to precursory signs of change.
We circumvent the ease of succumbing to the "business-as-usual" syndrome by embedding into the devised strategy all the mechanisms and processes that guarantee a sound management of the intellectual assets of our clients.
We confer to the devised strategy the utmost important characteristic of constantly encouraging, even requiring, a symbiotic approach to all the internal processes at all decision-making levels.
We leverage our IT knowledge and experience to ensure the use, the fluidity and the transparency of decision-making tools in all daily activities of our clients and not only for major decisions such as acquisitions or mergers.

Management Consulting

A multidimensional approach to IT Management Consulting... This is the hallmark of Corporatek's IT Management Competency. While flexible and tailored to the specific requirements of our clients, our contribution derives the breadth of its scope, its strength and its value from the depth and cohesion that we apply to the following tasks:
The precise definition of the enterprise's values, general policies and managerial processes
The strategic segmentation of the enterprise's activities
All the external analyses related to the enterprise including, but not limited to, its market, its competitive environment, the competencies required to strive in its market as well as the parameters of evolution and growth
All the internal analyses including those related to the technologies and know-how mastered by the enterprise, its research and development capabilities and plans, its production methods, its distribution channels, its human resources, its finances, its internal processes and its telecommunications and information technologies infrastructure
The synthesis of all the results and distinctive patterns for the purposes of clearly defining the positioning of the enterprise in its market and establishing its most profitable products and services portfolio
In carrying out these activities, we constantly leverage the competencies of all other Corporatek's Consulting and Systems Integration Groups to provide our clients with a complete framework of decision and action.

Vision

The new paradigms of the ICS Ecosystem...
Today's Information, Communications and Security (ICS) Ecosystem is an immense undertaking; in fact, it can be conceptually viewed as larger and more encompassing than the infrastructured and non-infrastructured other human undertakings combined.
The rationale underlying this view emanates from the fact that the ICS Ecosystem must cater to the global requirements of an environment where people live, work, learn, interact, research and communicate multidimensionally. Moreover, it is a well known fact that the ICS Ecosystem is unique in the sense that it possesses this peculiarity that it is constantly outgrowing itself.

The range of information and communications technologies that can be contemplated in the framework of the ICS Ecosystem is therefore commensurately wide.

In light of the above, we feel that the conceptualization, planning, design and implementation of literally any IT project within the global ICS Ecosystem requires a quasi-surgical application of the right technologies with a clear vision on the most promising ones. Within the realm of this endeavor, we strongly believe that we should be guided by the following precepts and governances:

Rational Forward Thinking
Today’s technological hype is an extremely fertile ground for decision makers and users to succumb to the “Technological Excesses Syndrome”. In this context, “Technology” becomes an end in itself instead of being a tool or a set of tools for increased productivity and better living. This syndrome is unfortunately fostered by several major and dominant equipment vendors and software manufacturers to achieve short-term financial or market share gains.
While forward thinking is one of the most important prerequisites to protect the ICS Ecosystem against premature obsolescence, we believe that a clear vision of the most promising standards and technologies, their strengths and weaknesses and, in particular, the durability of their commercial and technical viability and support is also a prerequisite of paramount importance. In fact, in its essence, forward thinking cannot be but rational forward thinking.

Loose Coupling and Tight Integration
By its very nature, any serious IT undertaking within the global ICS Ecosystem requires a plethora of different systems and facilities, all within a single framework. Examples are computers, wireless communications and location devices, smart cards, biometric devices, fiber optic circuits, etc.On the other hand, this profusion of devices and facilities (hardware and software) must render complementary and convergent services. For example, computers are required for normal computation tasks but they are also required to program and control smart cards or biometric devices.

Hence, the precept of “Loose Coupling and Tight Integration”. Loose coupling is imposed by the nature of the systems and devices and is required to achieve such design goals as high global system availability and maintainability while tight integration is required to achieve such other important design goals as the zero-latency networking and transparency to the users.

Systems and subsystems Congruence
Closely related to and axiomatic of the Loose Coupling and Tight Integration precept, the Systems and subsystems Congruence precept is an absolute planning and design necessity in order to circumvent the probabilities of impingement of the various systems and subsystems on one another. In an incongruent ensemble of systems and subsystems, the probabilities of impingement may arise, for example, from the competition of systems and subsystems for the same resources such as bandwidth or computational power.

Harmonious Juxtaposition
In view of the increasing polymorphism of so-called “intelligent” or software-enabled devices, the architectural layers that define the boundaries between a physical infrastructure and the services it renders tend to be more blurred and, sometimes, fade away. Therefore, we believe that a wiser and more realistic approach to system conceptualization, planning and design is the Harmonious Juxtaposition Approach which is based, as its name indicates, on judicious and coherent juxtaposition of systems, subsystems, devices and services instead of layering them artificially.

Other precepts and governances related to the new paradigms of the ICS Ecosystem include architectural robustness, systems resilience, understanding the layers of abstraction, the canonical evolution modeling, and the concepts of systems and subsystems granularity.
